WordPress (Blog) Posts vs (Static) Pages
WordPress has a menu item called Posts and one called Pages. Short answer put your regular website content in as pages. Put your rants in as Posts.
Posts automatically add the date and author and have comments configured by default so they are really designed for interactive less formal communication with your customers.
Pages do not ‘post’ date, author, comments by default. This is well suited for your static marketing messages. Static. They don’t change every 5 minutes.
As with all Internet advice, please keep in mind that everything above could by completely correct or incorrect for your situation.
Or more likely some shade in between!
